October marked a significant moment in our company's trajectory — securing $2.1 million CAD in seed-stage funding. Led by leading venture capital partners, including AQC Capital and MaRS Investment Accelerator Fund, this investment is a testament to the crucial role our platform will play for fast-growing SMBs.
In 2023, brands were projected to lose a total of $1.77 trillion to inventory distortion. The impact of these costs is further amplified by slower economic growth, urging brands to take immediate action to preserve their margins. And while managing inventory in an ERP might suit larger companies, smaller businesses need a nimble tool to level up their demand planning without breaking the bank.
This seed round allows us to fill this gap by scaling our team and introducing more automation across the platform. - An Huang joined as our new Product Designer. Having spent years designing intuitive supply chain solutions at Cloud Kitchens, An Huang will play a pivotal role in further enhancing our platform's user experience.
- Inna Zhogova, our latest Software Engineer with experience at DigitalOcean, will help us accelerate product development as we execute our 2025 roadmap.
- Ron Kunitzky brings his 20 years of expertise running SMB partnerships at Google, Indeed, and Wealthsimple. As our newest strategic GTM advisor, Ron will help us further scale our partnerships to pave the way for Moselle's next growth stage.
With these integral additions, our team can now support SMBs beyond inventory operations by connecting directly with the community. For example, in November, we co-hosted the annual Canadian Beauty and Wellness prom alongside CPG leaders like Top Knot Ventures Inc. and BraunHagey & Borden LLP to champion the achievements of the industry's fast-growing brands.
This event was a formative step in our long-term effort to build a community that celebrates every win on our customers' journeys. And as we head into 2025, this will be one of our top goals.
