Challenge
Maintaining Responsive Forecasting During Multi-Channel Growth
Bunny Ghatrora and her sister Taran co-founded Blume to create the kind of skincare they couldn't find themselves: formulations made with clean ingredients that support the skin barrier at every stage of the acne journey.
Their social-driven, community-first model — which featured untouched photos and real customer journeys — resonated, even in a crowded personal care market. What began as a DTC brand soon picked up momentum, earning placement with major retailers like Sephora and Ulta.
But with that growth came its own challenges. And as COO, it was Bunny's job to make sure that they had the supply chain infrastructure that would get their skincare into people's hands.
To make the products their customers trust, Blume works with co-manufacturers for formulas, packaging, and cartons — each with different lead times. Meanwhile, demand can be hard to predict and react to across multiple channels.
With so many moving parts, there was little room for error in tracking inventory and demand. A single miscalculation could delay production or trigger stockouts, putting retailer relationships and customer trust at risk.

To maintain detailed and accurate inventory planning and demand forecasting, the Blume team built and manually managed a spreadsheet system — importing sales data, forecasting demand by SKU, and mapping projections to production plans across dozens of tabs.
But forecasts could take up to two days to build, and were only updated monthly, leaving them without the real-time visibility needed to respond to inevitable surprise demands.
For example, if a certain product flew off shelves, a retailer might request additional units to capitalize on the surge in demand. Behind the scenes, the Blume team would manually rebuild forecasts to confirm stock availability — or risk missing the reorder opportunity entirely. Similarly, when sales flagged gifting opportunities or community campaigns, it could take up to five days for Bunny to confirm inventory, slowing momentum at critical moments.
"We felt like we were always a little bit behind because it took so long to plan and react," Bunny explains. That's when she considered hiring a senior demand planner to own the function — but it was an expensive role for a lean team, and wouldn't fix the underlying scattered data issue.
Bunny also explored tools like inFlow for PO management, but multiple platforms alongside spreadsheets would only add more complexity. On the other hand, most all-encompassing inventory platforms were built for larger companies, lacking customization and implementation support.
She needed one flexible solution that could meet Blume where they were now and scale with them. When a shared investor introduced her to Moselle, Bunny found exactly what she was looking for: a partner that could help her move quickly and confidently from strategy to execution.
"We couldn't react fast enough when demand grew more quickly than expected. We were missing opportunities to grow revenue and our brand."
Solution
Inventory Planning That Captures Real-Time Revenue Opportunities, Powered by Mo
Given how much was riding on forecast accuracy, Bunny needed confidence that Moselle would actually deliver. So she ran the platform in parallel with her existing process for several months, cross-checking outputs against her manual calculations.
To get this going, the Moselle team guided her through setup and helped connect the data sources she relied on most. They even stayed on hand to resolve any questions and adjust configurations until the numbers lined up.
"Other platforms sell you the dream, and then you're on your own," Bunny says. "The Moselle team helps you understand the tool from beginning to end."
Once the outputs consistently matched, Bunny fully transitioned to Moselle — turning it into the central hub for her operations. She integrated Blume's warehouses, EDI platform, and Shopify so production, planning, and sales data all feed into a single view of inventory, forecasts, and timelines.
Instead of managing multiple spreadsheets and tools, she now has one reliable source of truth for real-time decision-making.
Mo, Moselle's AI layer, adds a new level of speed and responsiveness. When a major retailer requests additional units or the sales team identifies a gifting opportunity, Bunny simply starts a chat with Mo, outlines the scenario, and gets immediate, actionable guidance on next steps, including exactly when to place purchase orders to avoid stockouts.

Mo also handles the follow-through, automatically generating weekly executive inventory reports that give marketing and sales the visibility they need to plan campaigns, gifting, and PR kits with confidence.
On the operations side, Bunny relies on Mo to stay ahead of production needs, ensuring sufficient component coverage for the months ahead. Drawing on its forecasting data, Mo drafts polished vendor emails complete with PO details, ship dates, and component ETAs, while proactively flagging any gaps between POs and component availability, so Bunny can adjust production plans before issues arise.
To validate and refine those forecasts over time, Bunny uses Moselle's interactive Forecast Performance Reports to track performance against actual sales and adjust product replenishment plans accordingly.
"We went from a full-time team spending 90% of their time managing inventory to having Moselle and an incredible operations assistant handle it all," Bunny says. The junior employee handles daily production updates while Bunny focuses on higher-level forecasting, including weekly adjustments for seasonality, promotions, and business changes. Now she can make her next hire "out of strategic purpose, not necessity."
What started as a search for better inventory software has yielded an operational support system built for scale. That backbone keeps Blume focused on what matters most: helping customers feel supported and confident in their skin.
"Before using Moselle, our inventory could feel like a black box. Now all of our inventory and forecasting data is in one spot. There's a lot more clarity and a lot more speed."
